Lufthansa launching new Munich-Vancouver route

Lufthansa is expanding its long-haul services from its Munich hub and next year, for the first time, the airline will offer a non-stop flight from Munich to Vancouver. Beginning May 16, the new route will be served daily with an Airbus A330. The service will complement Lufthansa’s daily flights from Frankfurt to Canada’s Pacific coast. “We are delighted to be able to offer our customers another destination in North America. Vancouver is an attractive destination for business and leisure travellers,”said Thomas Klühr, member of the Lufthansa German Airlines Board, Munich and Direct Services. By summer 2013, Lufthansa will serve 10 major cities in North America with non-stop flights from its Munich base. “Adding a daily Vancouver-Munich service offers the British Columbian traveller a second global hub for travel to Germany, Europe and beyond using this award-winning airport in the Bavarian capital,”added Hans DeHaan, director Canada for the Lufthansa Group. Bookings for the new non-stop service can now be made. (http://www.lufthansa.com)
