TPI Salutes Women Transforming Travel

On International Women’s Day, Travel Professional International (TPI) is saluting its industry colleagues who have worked tirelessly to transform the travel industry — from their dedication and creativity to their impeccable customer service.

In a message to the industry, the group pointed out that this year it’s more important than ever to recognize “the efforts that women have put forward to become leaders in our previously male dominated industry,” observing that “despite our combined efforts there is still so much work to be done.”

Zeina Gedeon, CEO of TPI, said: “This year’s theme, #BalanceforBetter, is a good reminder that many of my colleagues struggle in being recognized for the work and efforts they put forward in their professional lives and this needs to change. We need to continue the conversations and encourage our female leaders of tomorrow to keep striving for equality, as a cumulative group we can come together to make a difference.”

Gedeon continued: “At TPI we salute the women in travel who have accomplished so much and have come so far, we’d also like to shine a spotlight on work that still needs to be done to advance women in the travel industry. Our valued TPI members are working together to make a difference and we encourage you to do the same.”

“I recently read a quote from Sheryl Sandberg that resonated with me. ‘In the future, there will be no female leaders – there will just be leaders’.”
