Making The Move
On the heels of its 1000th episode, Canada’s most popular travel show on radio is moving to The New AM 740 — Zoomer Radio. Formerly with Newstalk 1010, The Chris Robinson Travel Show will be broadcast Saturdays from 1 pm to 2pm ET on The New AM 740 starting Sat., Feb. 22, 2014.
Show host, Chris Robinson said of the move: “The New AM 740 has a stronghold on the 45-plus demographic who are a perfect fit with the Travel Show. They have the money and the time to spend it on travel to the fantastic locations we cover around world such as Malaysia, Fiji, Mexico, the Caribbean, the US, Europe and most parts of Canada.”
With the move, the Chris Robinson Travel Show will undergo several format changes. For the first time, the show will be pre-recorded and include a greater amount of interviews with featured travel partners and more in-depth destination information. This show will also be heard on Montreal’s CJAD 800, continuing the long-standing relationship with the station.
Michael Tiernay, director of sales, radio division, said: “We are delighted to welcome The Chris Robinson Travel Show to ZoomerMedia. The total Travel Show package will reach over 2,000,000 listeners each week who have a strong interest in travel and most importantly, a high propensity to book it. Our intention is to build on its already strong listener base with 40 percent more promotional spots in the week prior to the show than it has ever received in the past.”
