Manitoba lets Canada’s ‘best kept secret’ out at Rendez-vous Canada 2026

Travel Manitoba says Winnipeg’s hosting Rendez-vous Canada last year has clearly provided tourism dividends for Manitoba.
Travel Manitoba’s Angela Cassie told Rendez-vous delegates Wednesday that the annual show helped raise awareness of what Manitoba offers vacationers.
“Manitoba is Canada’s best kept secret but we know the secret is out…” she told the Toronto audience.
“You can find moments in Manitoba we know you’ll talk about long after your visit.”
Cassie said her province has “wide-open landscapes.”
Travel Manitoba is promoting Manitoba as “the heart of Canada.”
Video footage shown on large screens during her presentation showed some of what can be seen in Manitoba, including polar bears and beluga whales that have helped the Hudson Bay-fronting community of Churchill build a tourist trade.
Travel Manitoba also reached out to nature enthusiasts with images of the Northern Lights.
The video also featured Indigenous cultural displays, with Cassie telling delegates that Manitoba has a large number of Indigenous tourism operators and Indigenous traditions play an important role in provincial tourism, citing the likes of paddling and dog-sledding.
The. Manitoba event also featured a performance by Manitoba singer and songwriter William Prince, dubbed “Manitoba royalty ” by Travel Manitoba and who between songs told delegates to “come check out beautiful Manitoba.”
A further display of Manitoba culture was featured during the event with the playing of recorded music by Winnipeg native Neil Young.
