Marine experts describe whales at Hilton Waikoloa

Migrating whales come so close to the coast of the Big Island that guests at the Hilton Waikoloa Village can enjoy whale watching from the shoreline – and they can do it with the expert marine naturalists of Ocean Sports. Guests meet the guides at Buddha Point at 7:30 a.m. for a whale watch talk to get tips on how to best spot the whales and learn what all those splashes are about. This activity is complimentary for hotel guests and is available daily to April 15. Reservations are recommended. In addition to the on-shore lectures, Ocean Sports offers three daily trips to see the humpbacks in their prime calving and mating grounds on the Kohala Coast. They do so with stable and spacious catamarans, where expert marine naturalists take all humpback questions. Excursions are family friendly – kids ages 6-12 cruise for half price and those under six enjoy the ride for free. (http://www.hawaiioceansports.com)
