Massachusetts: It’s All Here

massachusettes-event

About 65 travel agents and tour operators were on hand to get the inside story on Massachusetts in Toronto last night (April 26) from representatives of the state and its key tourism regions.

As well, Massachusetts’ airline partners – Air Canada, Porter and WestJet – were also in attendance to update travel trade types on their service to the state.

Jackie Ennis, international marketing, Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism, told Press Today that Canada was the state’s number one international visitor market, with the most recent visitor numbers (from 2014) showing that 735,000 Canadians visit Massachusetts each year.

Ennis said that key source markets out of Canada include Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes, with Canadian visitors arriving either by air or car.

And while Ennis certainly recognizes that the Canadian dollar has struggled in relation to the US currency, she is quick to point out that Canadians are still travelling to Massachusetts and she said she believes that’s because Massachusetts offers good value to the visitor.
