Merit Travel Group is partnering with social enterprise, Me to We — becoming the exclusive travel partner of Me to We Trips for Adult and Family Volunteer Adventures in Kenya, as well as the exclusive retail partner for Group Trips with university students to all Me to We destinations. Michael Merrithew, chairman and CEO of Merit Travel Group Inc, explained that: “Travelling with a purpose is an exciting trend in our industry and Merit strongly believes that the truly unique adventures and culture immersions provided by Me to We Trips will allow our clients to experience overseas travel in the most authentic way. After having done a trip myself, I say this with the utmost confidence.” Currently, Merit and its subsidiary retail brands Merit Vacations, The Adventure Travel Company, TravelCUTS and Voyages Campus will offer Me to We Trips for Adults and Families to the Maasai Mara region in Kenya, with plans to expand to India in 2013. In Kenya, travellers spend their days volunteering, as well as interacting with and working alongside local community members. Nights are spent recharging at Me to We’s boutique Bogani Cottages and Tented Camp. Roxanne Joyal, co-CEO, Me to We, said that: “Merit was a natural choice when seeking a retail partner for Me to We Trips and we’re excited for what this partnership will offer to Canadians.” Marc Kielburger, co-founder and co-CEO of Me to We, pointed out that: “The customer experience is the most important factor in our business model. With more than 20 years of experience delivering life-changing travel opportunities and the utmost in professional service, we are proud to be partnering with Merit to help continue to create overseas transformative experiences to Canadians travelling abroad.” Go to http://www.merit.ca or visit http://www.metowe.com for additional information.
