A powerful hurricane, Patricia, with reported winds of up to 200-mph and even more powerful gusts, is moving towards Mexico’s Pacific coast.

The Category 5 hurricane could make landfall later today (Oct. 23) and could affect such tourist destinations as Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco.

The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane warning for travel to and from Puerto Vallarta.

With respect to the current weather conditions, AMResorts says guests are minimally affected by flight delays and cancellations. It is advising, however, that its inclement weather policy for in-house or arriving guests is now in effect and applies to guests travelling to Secrets Vallarta Bay Puerto Vallarta, Dreams Villamagna Nuevo Vallarta and Now Amber Puerto Vallarta.
