Mexico’s Palace Resorts — which has five-star, all-inclusive resorts — has unveiled the latest enhancement to the brand’s signature property, Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort.

Comprised of three luxurious sections – Moon Grand, Sunrise and Nizuc – Moon Palace has completed a US$22 million renovation of the Nizuc section, which includes 120 newly renovated guest rooms, the main lobby, swimming pool, food and beverage outlets, gymnasium, beauty salon, and Tortugas Ballroom.

Nizuc’s new lobby offers a “totally unique and ambitious concept of modern minimal glamour. As guests enter, they are greeted by a chic ambiance of ivory walls juxtaposed by vibrant artwork. Irreverent accents such as elephant tusk chandeliers, whimsical glass fixtures and mile-high ceilings come together to create an ambiance of total opulence. The resort’s stunning design celebrates modern aesthetics, blending European influence with Mexican spirit,” Palace Resorts says.

Nizuc will now feature an authentic Irish bar known as, “The Pub.” Expected for completion early this year, the watering hole will offer a stark departure to the resort’s Cancun setting. Offering vintage aesthetics and mahogany fixtures, the tavern will provide a bar menu complimented by top shelf libations and ales.

In addition to a new mini-golf course, Nizuc now features a new kids club, “The Playroom, which has 11 game rooms, a beauty salon, mini runway, dollhouse, full kitchen and creativity area. “The Playroom” also boasts an Xbox room, an area with “ezy rollers” and an arcade zone. The new kids club also comes complete with a theatre with concessions, two playgrounds (one inside and one outside), a pirate boat, sandbox and a mini soccer field.

The property also recently announced the expansion of Moon Palace’s meetings and events capabilities with the creation of a 140,000-square-foot convention centre, Moon Palace Arena.
