NACTA Set For 2014 Phoenix Conference

The National Association of Career Travel Agents (NACTA) will hold its Annual Conference in Phoenix, Ariz., for the first time. NACTA’s conference will be held Oct. 30 to Nov. 3, 2014 at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa.

Lisa Watson, NACTA’s director of marketing & special events, said: “Our members have been asking us for a venue in the western U.S., and we’re pleased to work with our partners at Starwood Hotels & Resorts to find such a beautiful venue. Our conference registration this year has been our largest yet.”

This event will showcase more than 60 of NACTA’s top travel supplier and host partners. Attendees will have an opportunity to create relationships with these top NACTA partners throughout energetic networking sessions within the event.

Bob Duglin, NACTA’s vice-president of sales & industry relations said: “NACTA’s supplier and host partners are turning out in record numbers this year to participate and network with our independent travel agent attendees. Our partners know the value of connecting with hundreds of frontline travel consultants and NACTA is pleased to be their conduit to this important channel,”

Other conference highlights include a country themed dinner at Rawhide Western Town on Halloween where guests vote for the best costume prize, a “give back” program where attendees can volunteer to give back to the local community and a closing night, themed dinner event sponsored by the Hawaii Visitors Bureau. In addition, there will be luncheon discussions with various river and destination suppliers, a destination wedding seminar and full day of Hawaii destination product training.

NACTA & ASTA members can register for the promotional rate of $249 per travel consultant and non-member agents can attend for $349 (which includes a one-year NACTA membership). There is also some space left for suppliers who wish to participate in the trade show and engagement sessions to connect with NACTA’s attendees.
