New Brand For Stratosphere Signals Major Upgrade
The iconic Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower in Las Vegas, notable for its sky-scraping profile in the city skyline, is now undergoing significant upgrades and changes under new owners.
A rebranding of the property – to the STRAT Hotel, Casino and SkyPod – is the most obvious initial alteration. But the changes and improvements go much further than that. New owners Golden Entertainment took possession of the hotel late in 2017.
Golden Entertainment began the transformation with a remodelling that started in mid-2018. For instance, in August The STRAT unveiled the “Elevate” room series, a complete remake of 311 rooms with new décor, furniture and amenities designed by architectural firm, Friedmutter Group.
In November came the opening of the 415-square-metre Strat Café & Wok, a 24-hour restaurant offering elevated comfort cuisine. In December, The STRAT finalized a full remodel of Top of the World, complete with new tables and reupholstered furniture. And in late December, The STRAT debuted 108 Eats by James Trees, located on the 108th floor on the Observation Deck.
The STRAT continues to evolve in 2019 with the introduction of the BLVD & Main Taphouse, plus View Lounge, offering a full bar and signature cocktails with views of the casino floor. Also slated to open is the Race and Sports Book, a fully remodelled sports book equipped with an LED wraparound wall and other wagering technology. All three of these venues will open this spring at the northwest corner of the main casino floor.
Next up will be a full remodel of the indoor and outdoor Observation Decks on floors 108 and 109, respectively. This will be revealed this spring, along with 108 Drinks.
The STRAT also announced the new SkyPod branding, which will describe all the attractions and venues at the top of the hotel. These include the Sky Jump, Big Shot, Insanity and X-Scream thrill rides, plus Top of the World on the 106th floor, the 107 SkyLounge, the Observation Deck and 108 Eats/108 Drinks.
