New L.A.-Kelowna flights generate ‘huge’ impact

The landing of the first flight by United Airlines from Los Angeles directly to Kelowna was cause for recent celebration at the Kelowna International Airport. The first touch own was heralded by a party in the airport’s main lounge attended by United reps and Kelowna mayor Walter Gray, B.C. Minister of Transportation Mary Polak and others. The new daily nonstop flights represent a huge economic impact to the region. Each flight is estimated to generate $1 million in economic benefits for the region.
