Nexion Picks Its Canadian Rising Star

Gillian Boucher, owner of Dèrive Travel and a member of Nexion Travel Group-Canada, has been named as the host travel agency’s 2021 Canadian Rising Star. Presented at Nexion Travel Group’s international conference CoNexion, this award honours a newer travel advisor who has shown great promise in the early years of opening his or her travel agency in Canada.

The Rising Star has taken advantage of Nexion’s programs and tools, delivered excellent sales numbers, and demonstrated the overall ability to become a long-term success with Nexion Travel Group.

Boucher, who resides in Barrie, ON, completed her training and joined Nexion Travel Group-Canada in November 2019.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic consumed the majority of her travel advisor career thus far, she has still managed to post impressive sales numbers.

Boucher has boosted her knowledge through active participation on NexionTown, Nexion’s private platform for members to share ideas and advice.

She has also attended many Nexion Travel Group learning events and plans to complete her Leisure Certification in the near future.

As a mother of four, Boucher has a special focus on all-inclusive and family friendly properties in Mexico and the Caribbean. She has deep experience with these destinations and works hard to prepare clients for everything they need, including all the latest health and safety protocols.

Mike Foster, president of Nexion Travel Group-Canada, said: “Gillian is a success not only because of her experience and positive attitude, but also because of the smart way she leverages Nexion Travel Group tools to achieve her goals.”

Foster observed: “The timing of her entry to the industry, and what happened only months later would have been discouraging to many people. However, Gillian has met the challenge with ease and continues to thrive. She is putting in place a firm foundation to ensure her business succeeds not only in the present, but far in the future. Nexion Travel Group-Canada is so proud to name her our 2021 Rising Star.”
