Nova Star Adds New Twists In 2015
Nova Star Cruises is now accepting reservations for 2015 sailings of the Nova Star between Yarmouth, NS and Portland, ME. The cruise company will operate seven day a week round-trip service between Yarmouth and Portland from June 1 until Oct. 14, 2015. The first voyage of the 2015 season will depart Portland on June 1 at 8 pm Eastern Time. The first departure from Yarmouth is on June 2 at 9:30am Atlantic Time. The last voyage will arrive in Yarmouth at 8:00 am on October 14.
Mark Amundsen, president & CEO, Nova Star Cruises, said: “We are excited for the 2015 season and have made changes to our service offering, sailing schedule and pricing structure to reflect customer feedback and projections. There is strong new demand from tour operators and the general public. For 2015, Nova Star Cruises will incorporate a flexible pricing structure, which will see variations in fares based on the season, day of the week, direction of travel and other demand-based variables.
The one-way fare for adults 18 and over starts at $94. Travel is free for children ages 13 and under, and the youth rate starting at $19 one-way applies to children over 14 but under 18 on the date of travel. Private cabins are priced from $59. One-way rates for passenger vehicles up to 20 feet start at $94, and $64 for motorcycles. Fares are subject to port fees and a $5 fuel surcharge.
Amundsen noted that: “The flexible pricing and fare incentives will make Nova Star, and travel to Nova Scotia, as accessible as possible for the travelling public. We have an aggressive marketing campaign planned including TV, radio and print advertising, active social media and online campaigns, and a heavy concentration on trade media and trade shows.”
The company has introduced incentives to encourage passengers to travel on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, when demand is typically lower throughout the season. As well, passengers travelling round-trip aboard Nova Star will receive a 10% discount off their passenger, cabin and vehicle fares.
