NYC & Company Welcomes Back Canadian Travellers

NYC & Company led a tourism delegation to educate and inspire Canadians in advance of summer. New York City tourism partners are meeting with travel trade professionals in Toronto and Montreal this week (May 3 to May 5).

From brand-new hotels and restaurants to star-studded Broadway shows, exhibitions and events, and the abundance of multi-cultural experiences across all five boroughs, the City is bursting with energy and ready to welcome Canadians.

Reginald Charlot, NYC & Company, Managing Director, Tourism Market Development, said that: “Whether it’s your first visit or one of many, New York City is proud to invite Canadians to explore the vibrant culture and experiences across our five boroughs.”

Charlot continued: “With easy access for short getaways or longer retreats, New York City offers world-class options in entertainment; food and drink; sports; art and family travel; small businesses and authentic neighborhood experiences; and so much more; It’s Time for Canadian travelers to return to NYC this spring and beyond.”

Canadian visitation to New York City is expected to recover to 83% of 2019 levels by end of 2022 and reach full return by 2025. Canadian airlines are responding quickly to consumer demand by increasing frequency into New York City, while the drive market is consistently growing with more than 2 million Canadians crossing the land border over the past few months (Source: Canadian Border Agency).

Participating New York City tourism partners include: Broadway Inbound, TopView Sightseeing, Empire State Building Observatory, Hudson Yards, Rockefeller Center and SUMMIT One Vanderbilt.
