Intrepid Travel has partnered with Travel Alberta to launch two new tours in Canada’s adventure capital, marking the first time the tour operator has run tours exclusively in Alberta.

It is also the first time that Intrepid Travel, one of the largest adventure travel companies in the world, has partnered with a Canadian tourism board.

The two new itineraries cover both the highlights of Alberta (Jasper National Park, Banff National Park, Calgary and Edmonton) along with some of the province’s hidden gems.

The 13-day Amazing Alberta itinerary makes additional stops to Elk Island National Park and Dinosaur Provincial Park while the nine-day Alberta Highlights trip includes a visit to Wateron Lakes National Park.

“Alberta is truly an adventure lover’s paradise,” says Christian Wolters, deputy general manager of Intrepid Travel. “We hope this partnership with Travel Alberta will help push Canada into the adventure travel spotlight and give it the recognition it deserves.”
For Travel Alberta, the partnership is a significant step towards attracting more international visitors to the province.

“A partnership with a global travel leader like Intrepid presents Alberta with significant opportunity to grow the visitor economy in our province,” says Royce Chwin, Travel Alberta’s chief executive officer. “We are proud to be the first Provincial Marketing Organization to partner in this innovative way to provide compelling invitations for visitors to experience Alberta’s authentic adventures.”

The first departures are set to run this summer starting June 27. The Amazing Alberta, from $2,335 per person, will be running in the Basix style with camping accommodations, while Alberta Highlights, from $3,295 and starting July 25, is a comfort tour with stays in hotels, chalets and resorts.
