Orlando Sets Visitation Record

The confetti was flying at International Pow Wow this morning (April 9) as Visit Orlando reported not only record visitation numbers for 2013, but an all-time record for US destinations.

Visit Orlando president and CEO George Aguel delivered the news, stating, “This is a huge number. It continues to reinforce that is this is the place you want to come.”

Orlando is in the midst of an unprecedented building and expansion boom, with no end in sight. Major enhancements to Orlando airport and its convention centre are underway and All Aboard Florida, a train connecting Orlando and Miami will launch next year. Key attractions like Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld are all undergoing major expansions or adding new rides as well.

Orlando’s increased visitor numbers represent a 3% increase over 2012.
