Piekham-Hsieh picked for joint venture GM post

Adeline Piekham-Hsieh has been appointed as the Canadian sales general manager for the Delta, KLM, Air France and Alitalia joint venture, effective June 1. Reporting to Bob Somers, vice-president of global sales at Delta Air Lines, and Fabien Pelous, vice-president and general manager of Air France KLM Canada, she will be in charge of sales development for all four brands in Canada, and of travel agency and corporate client relations as well. Piekham-Hsieh’s airline industry experience dates back to 1998, as a member of Air France’s revenue management team at the company’s head office in Paris. Upon arriving in Canada in November 2002, she worked with American Express supplier relations in Toronto, before taking over as sales manager for Central and Western Canada in 2003. The Canadian sales team consists of 30 people spanning Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal. Headquartered in Toronto, Piekham-Hsieh will be supported by two regional sales managers, one for Eastern Canada and one for Central and Western Canada as her replacement. Both positions will be filled shortly.
