Josef Ebner, regional vice-president and managing director, Delta Chelsea Hotel, was awarded the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario’s “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the 2012 Ontario Tourism Summit in London, Ont. The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the development and promotion of the tourism industry in Ontario and have also established a visible and long-term record of accomplishment that merits special recognition. For the past 20 years, he has made countless trips to Asia, Europe, UK, Middle East and the US on sales missions such as ITB in Berlin, CTC ‘Showcase’ events in Japan, Korea, China and India as well as WTM in London. “These missions provide me with an opportunity to make a positive impact and ultimately contribute to the promotion and support of the tourism industry in Ontario,” said Ebner. “The personal connections make the difference.” A tireless promoter of the Delta Chelsea Hotel, Ebner is also very involved in various voluntary organizations, including board membership and/or executive committee membership with Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership, Greater Toronto Hotel Association, Tourism Toronto, SKAL International, just to name a few.
