The Moulin Rouge made an appearance at New York City’s Statue of Liberty last week. The legendary French cabaret dancers arrived wearing full ensembles of La Goulue’s cancan spotted blouses and flounced skirts. The French review brought its “a Taste of Moulin Rouge” to a Best of France festival last weekend. “For the first time in 126 years, two staples in French history have met face-to-face,” said Moulin Rouge CEO Jean Jacques Clerico. Since opening their doors 126 years ago, the Moulin Rouge has never before travelled to New York City.
