DAILY-CUNARD-April4

Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth made its maiden call at Halong Bay in Vietnam on March 31.

Noted for its spectacular seascape of islands and sheer rock pillars, the Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage site and famous as a James Bond film location.

Queen Elizabeth’s call came over half way through its annual Round World Voyage, after leaving Southampton on Jan. 10 and having already sailed through the Panama Canal and on to San Francisco, Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and China.

The 2,000 passenger ship arrived in Halong Bay after an overnight stay in Hong Kong. The itinerary takes it on to Singapore, Sri Lanka, India and Dubai, arriving back in Southampton on May 9 after 118 nights and calls at 40 ports in 23 different countries.
