Starwood Hotels & Resorts hosted a reception in Toronto last night (April 10) to update travel industry personnel on its portfolio in Greece, which consists of 11 properties. Starwood’s Tim Ananiadis (l), area manager for Greece & Cyprus, told PressToday that Greece is rebounding nicely after a few challenging years and noted that occupancy levels were up 20% to 30% last year with another 15% increase expected for 2014. “We’re the biggest concentration of luxury product in Greece,” he said, adding that North American travellers represent about 50% of Starwood’s business in Greece.
