The ACTA MB golf event took place June 2 at Rossmere Golf Course in Winnipeg and was a big success with 80 industry members in attendance. The day’s theme was “Christmas in June,” which led to festive beverages and shortbread cookies served at holes, photos with Santa (courtesy of Oceania Cruises) and a “Name that Carol” quiz displayed on each hole sponsor sign that kept everyone guessing throughout the day. Other sponsors that helped make the day a success included Air Canada, Collette and the Great Canadian Travel Company. The winning team hailed from Holiday Inn Airport West and the most honest team that was “golfing to the beat of a different drummer” went to Evelyn Sinclair (tourney co-chair), Susan Porteous and Brigitta and Albert Voth (who also won the Christmas Spirit award). Other prize winners included WestJet passes, Kathy Chapman, Total Travel; Barcelo, one-week stay, Brigitta/Albert Voth, Around the World Travel; Air Canada, North America passes, Holli Sodomlak, Great Canadian Travel Company; Air Canada, Europe passes, Lana Keyes, Keyes2Travel/Travel Agent Next Door.
