Vienna is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the “Ringstrasse” and Toronto was recently host to the Vienna Salon, held at a private residence bringing to life the essence of this magnificent period in time. The venue was transformed with hints of red and white inspired by the colours of the Vienna Tourist Board and staged to introduce Vivien Shotwell who shared a reading of a short story she wrote commemorating the 150th anniversary of the “Ringstrasse” followed by an aria, “Cara Sposa” she sang by Handel with dancers giving life to her story. The event was hosted by Matte Babel, ET Canada. In addition, Norbert Kettner, managing director of the Vienna Tourist Board, shared with the guests some history of Vienna and the genesis of the “Ringstrasse.” Special guest Divine Brown, R&B Juno Award Winner, closed the show with one of her signature songs.
