Plan, Explore, Share the Hong Kong Way

Plan, explore, share – these three words introduce the new “My HK Guide,” a web-based service at http://guide.discoverhongkong.com/ca where those planning a trip to Hong Kong can read about the region’s many offerings and plan their entire itinerary.

The site, created by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), enables travellers to maximize the time they have available while in destination and to tailor their trip to their own interests. A video on the site explains how it all works and then visitors click through to “Create a Guide” to create their personalized itinerary.

Each personalized guide records the numbers of days the visitor(s) plan to spend in the region and then, from “touch down” onwards, leads them on the trip of their dreams with the words “get inspired,” “start exploring” and “have fun.” And during and after the vacation the site also acts as a social platform, enabling travellers to share their journey and experiences on-line.

The site gives details of Hong Kong’s major attractions, together with personalized stories dealing with such categories as shopping and restaurants. Highlight attractions include The Peak, Ocean Park, the Avenue of Stars, Disneyland, Museums, the Temple Street Night Market and the region’s beautiful islands.

Also on the HKTB site is the HK Insiders Guide, accessed at http://www.discoverhongkong.com/ca/see-do/insiders-guide/index.jsp . This site offers newly produced videos showing various aspects of Hong Kong endorsed by celebrities. Even those who are familiar with Hong Kong’s attractions, or who have visited before, will discover some lesser-known attractions and districts of the city.
