POETRY FESTIVAL BACK IN EDMONTON

The Edmonton Poetry Festival is back, and this year’s incarnation of the festival – dubbed Word Nation – brings 14 of Canada’s poet laureates together, plus Liz Lochhead, the National Poet of Scotland. Throughout the week, poetry readings, conference sessions and stage performances will be presented. Printed poems even appear on the interior panels of the buses that run on The Poetry Route. The festival thrives on diversity, with events that run the gamut from academic to spoken word to slam performances. The festival runs through April 28. (http://www.edmontonpoetryfestival.com)
