Poised To Lead In Luxury

FRHI-hotels-daily

FRHI Hotels & Resorts says it’s on a development roll, with the company – which offers the Fairmont, Raffles and Swissotel brands – projecting 50% growth over the next five years.

“We are poised to lead in the luxury segment for a long time,” company spokeswoman Alexandra Blum told a Thursday gathering in Toronto. “And for us, growth, whether of properties or programs, is not without insight.

“We make it a priority to constantly research what our guests want, how external factors impact their choices, what the newest trends are and how to anticipate what the next luxury travel trend will be.”

The event was held in The Royal York Hotel, long prominent in Toronto’s hotel scene, which Blum alluded to.

“We are lucky to manage the most beautiful and iconic hotels in the world, which many of you have visited and one of which that we are standing in right now.

“One of the reasons I love working for FRHI is that we acknowledge that what we do is bigger than ourselves and that we have an important role in preserving iconic landmarks for future generations.

“We truly believe we are stewards of restoration and are getting a lot of practice. Eighty per cent of Fairmont’s portfolio is currently under restoration and we have numerous multi-million-dollar renovation projects underway all over the world.”

Blum added that “this nod to the past while including modern amenities and experiences” attracts guests to the properties.

Meanwhile, the event saw the introduction of Fairmont’s new global cocktail menu, and the serving of Singapore slings, a Raffles classic created in Singapore a century ago.
