Porter inaugurates first Western Canada route between Montréal & Vancouver

Today (April 11), Porter Airlines inaugurated service between Vancouver International Airport (YVR). The route marks Porter’s first Western Canada destination from Montréal.

“Our presence in Montréal is continuing to grow directly through new Porter service and with our strategic airline partnerships,” said Kevin Jackson,m president, Porter Airlines. “Our first western route from Montréal will take Porter’s elevated economy service to even more passengers across Canada and the globe.”

About the new route

The new route begins with one daily roundtrip flight operated with Porter’s state-of-the-art 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The two-by-two configuration means there are no middle seats on any Porter flight.

The scheduled service offers a variety of connections to Eastern Canada via YUL, including Halifax, Toronto-Pearson and Toronto-City, complementing existing daily non-stop service between Toronto-Pearson and Ottawa to Vancouver.

Porter’s codeshare partnership with Air Transat provides convenient connections from YUL throughout Europe, to destinations like Paris and London. Travellers will benefit from more choice and seamless connections.

Service from Montréal to Edmonton and Calgary begins later this spring. With the launch of the three new western destinations, Porter will operate 8 non-stop routes out of Montréal.
