Porter Supports Dress for Success Toronto

Porter Airlines’ Women Soar at Porter committee is extending its community outreach by supporting Dress for Success Toronto, coinciding with International Women’s Day (March 8).

Women Soar at Porter aims to bridge the gender gap within all areas of the organization, including pilots, leadership and ground operations, as well as other groups. Working with a charitable partner like Dress for Success offers Porter a way to help more women get into the workforce.

In 2016, Dress for Success Toronto outfitted more than 1,300 women. Fifty per cent of clients are newcomers to Canada and many have post-secondary education. The Mission of Dress for Success Toronto is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Porter will support Dress for Success Toronto initiatives by co-ordinating clothing drives across the organization and through volunteer-led professional skills workshops for clients.

“We are committed to supporting women at every stage of their career, from raising awareness about job opportunities for students, to donating professional attire for an upcoming interview,” said Porter president Robert Deluce. “Partnering with Dress for Success will enable Women Soar at Porter to help more people enter the workforce with confidence.”
