Proud to support Pride

Earlier this summer, the Contiki crew hit the streets of Toronto to support the LGBT community during Pride Week and to also promote its gay-friendly tours with co-sponsor Flight Centre. Hitting up four Flight Centre locations along the Yonge St. strip, the Contiki team encouraged passers-by to book a tour at any of Flight Centre’s GTA locations during Pride Week to receive $250 off the cost of a trip. Toronto’s Pride Week has always been an important celebration for Contiki and encouraging young travellers to experience Pride festivities in other parts of the world is just as significant. Clients wanting to head to the land down under can book the Feb. 9, 2013 departure for the 14-day Beaches & Reefs tour, starting in Sydney the same day as one of the world’s biggest LGBT Pride celebrations, the Sydney Mardi Gras. Brad Ford, president of Contiki Canada, said: “Our trips have always been very inclusive and welcoming to young travellers of all walks of life — that melting pot of personalities and backgrounds is what makes the Contiki experience so incredible. Our support at Toronto?s Pride Week wasn’t just to show that our trips are gay-friendly, but also to encourage the LGBT community to discover Pride celebrations all over the world, whether in colourful Rio or vivacious Sydney.” Go to http://www.contiki.com for more.
