Qantas boosts seasonal flights from Canada to Australia
Qantas will boost international flying from Canada to Australia during northern winter to meet seasonal demand from Australians traveling to Canada for its peak ski season and Canadians flocking south to experience the warmth of Australian summer.
The Australian carrier will increase nonstop flying on its Vancouver to Sydney route from three per week to daily from Jan. 1-24, 2026 before adjusting to five flights per week from Jan. 25 to Feb. 8, 2026 and tapering to four flights per week from Feb. 9 through March 2026.
The increased flying over the northern winter season will boost available seats by 68 per cent from January through March. All services will be operated with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

Canadian travellers can fly through Sydney and connect onto Qantas’ vast domestic network reaching more than 60 destinations across Australia, from the Great Barrier Reef to Sydney’s iconic beaches and Victoria’s world-class wine regions.
Australian customers flying through Vancouver can connect onward throughout Canada thanks to Qantas’ partnership with WestJet offering one-stop connections to classic Canadian ski and culture hubs like Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, Victoria and more.
Qantas flights between Canada and Australia included checked baggage, premium inflight food and beverage, warm Aussie hospitality and more than 2,500 hours of inflight entertainment included as standard with every booking. Average annual lead-in fares for nonstop round-trip flights from Vancouver to Sydney start from $1,929 CAD.
