Qatar Airways reveals details of 72-hour stopover program

More than 45 million travellers passed through the Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar in 2023, with Qatar Airlines offering service to more than 170 destinations.

Qatar Airways is offering Canadian travellers a gateway to explore the captivating landscapes and cultural treasures of Qatar. With Doha strategically positioned as a transit hub between North America and Asia, Africa, visitors can now extend their journey up to 72 hours in Qatar.

Central to Qatar Airways’ stopover program are the diverse packages designed to cater to the varied tastes and preferences of the short-stay visitor.

From luxury hotel stays to immersive city tours, people transitting through Doha are greeted with a myriad of perks and privileges. Whether it’s exploring the souks of Souq Waqif or embarking on a desert safari adventure, Qatar’s offerings promise unforgettable five-star experience at a fraction of the costs.

How to book a Qatar stopover 

You can book your client’s stopover with the 24-hour check-in hotels through the Discover Qatar’s portal only after booking the air segments with Qatar Airways.

Always check with the Government of Canada for the most up-to-date visa requirements. While visa requirements should be attended to prior to departure, Canadian citizens can also get a visa upon arrival. 

There are 5 tiered options (net fares) to choose from when booking a stopover:

Standard (includes four-star properties like IFG, Hilton and Marriott, starting at $14USD per night); Premium (includes five-star properties like IHG, Hilton, Marriott, Dusit, Accor and Tivoli Hotels, starting at $23 USD per night); Premium access with beach (includes five-star properties like Marriott, Dusit, Crowne Plaza, Tivoli Hotels starting at $30 USD per night); Luxury (includes five-star properties like Westin, Park Hyatt, Fairmont, Rixos, Hilton, Dusit and InterContinental, starting at $81 USD per night); All-inclusive luxury (includes five-star properties like Dusit, Le Meridien, Westin, Marriott and the W Hotel, starting at $144 USD per night).

This range of options enables travel agents to curate personalized itineraries, tailored to suit the schedules and interests of their clients.
