Remembering David Roper

There is much sadness these days. More today, as the industry learns of the passing of David Roper.

In a post on his Facebook page, Sandals Resorts International’s executive vice president of sales, Gary Sadler writes:

“In 1986, an exuberant young man joined our organization as General Manager of Sandals Royal Caribbean. His name was David Roper and over a 35-year career, he would go on to rise through the ranks becoming a stalwart, an unstoppable force for good whose life’s work was an example of what it means to deliver exceptional experiences.”

Sadler continues:

“Because of him, we are a better organization. More capable and more innovative. David was a mentor and true friend. He spent his life spreading his love of the Caribbean to our team members and valued travel advisors worldwide, whom he adored, and respected. And who loved him back. To know David Roper and to be with him was to have fun. His infectious laugh, incredible sense of humour and kind heart will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by all of us.”

So, today, take a moment and remember David Roper … he will be missed.
