Remembering Moira

Members of the Canadian meeting and incentive and travel industry took a moment to pause this week to mark the passing of Moira Hearn, founder and president of Select Group Marketing (SGM) and long-time advocate of the work of the Society of Incentive Travel Executives (SITE) here in Canada. “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Moira Ann Hearn (1949 -2012) on Friday, July 6, 2012,” began the message that announced Hearn’s death. “Moira had endured a long and complex illness and had coped with great strength and courage. At the end, she passed into the next life peacefully with dignity and grace.” “Moira will be forever missed, and remembered with great affection, by her mother Yvonne, her sisters Jane and Pamela, her brothers Edward and David, and her cherished niece, nephews, great niece, great nephews and her God children.” “Moira’s many special friends, from all over the world, will miss her wonderful sense of humour and her enduring support, mentorship and guidance. She truly was a unique lady and she leaves a huge legacy of warm and unforgettable memories.” A funeral service, followed by a celebration of Moira;s life, will be held on Monday July 16, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Rosedale United Church at 159 Roxborough Drive, Toronto, M4W 1X7; (416) 924-0725.
