Remembering Randy Williams

Sad, sad news this morning, as the industry learns of the passing of Randy Williams, who was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident as he was travelling from Sicamous, Alberta.

Over the years, Williams has been a powerful force in the Canadian travel industry. He served as the President of ACTA; he was the President of the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC); and he was the CEO of Tourism Calgary – to name but just a few of the roles he filled over the years.

In a post on Linkedin, in which he shared the “devastating news” of Williams’ passing, Mark Nichols advised that “at this time, the family has requested privacy as they process this tragedy. Please hold them in your thoughts and prayers, and respect their space during this incredibly difficult time.”

From all of us here at Baxter Media who knew Randy, this news has been deeply shocking and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

Today, though, let’s all take a moment to remember Randy Williams … he will be truly, truly missed.
