RTTF webinar focuses on Canada

Canada’s natural and cultural vastness is admired the world over, but this expansiveness sometimes leads to gaps in sustainable tourism. From fragile Polar Regions to city parks and everywhere in between, Great Canadian Destinations: the path towards a sustainable tourism industry highlights current initiatives for responsible tourism options within Canada. The fourth session of the 2012 RTTF Webinar Series takes place on Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. EST and features presenters Laura McGowan of Alberta Tourism and Jonathan Foster of Gros Morne Institute. The discussion will cover social, economic and environmental initiatives being undertaken by the travel supply chain; challenges and opportunities faced by those promoting and operating sustainable tourism organizations across Canada; and comprehensive case studies of Canadian tourist destinations. Travel industry professionals can register for free thanks to the support of webinar sponsor Travel Insurance Coordinators and series sponsors Air Canada, Delta Chelsea Toronto, and Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management Ryerson University. Baxter Travel Media’s interactive webinar series offers travel professionals, from anywhere across Canada, the chance to learn about the environmental, social and economic issues affecting the industry from the comfort and convenience of their own desks.
