Running, walking against autism at travel industry fundraiser

Anyone who wants to strike a blow against autism is invited to attend a special walk/run fundraiser event by the travel industry organization, Friends in Travel YVR (FITYVR). The event will take place on Sunday, June 21 at 9:30 a.m. at Iona Beach Regional Park in Richmond, BC. Funds gathered by the participants will be donated to the Canucks Autism Network.
“This day is about more than just walking or running — it’s about coming together with purpose,” said travel advisor Deddy Geese of Hagen’s Travel & Cruises, organizer of the event.
“Every step taken helps support programs that empower individuals on the autism spectrum and their families, creating opportunities for inclusion, connection and growth. Whether you choose to walk, jog, or run, your participation contributes to a collective impact that extends far beyond the course,” said Geese.
The course runs along a jetty that extends 4 km. into the sea waters close to the runways at YVR. The walk route will cover 5 km., while the running course will reach 8 km. Walkers and runners will complete their events at about the same time to enjoy some social time together at the finish line.
Great prizes are waiting to be won, including two economy class tickets from YVR to any destination in North America, including Mexico – thanks to Air Canada. The registration address is: https://fityvr.ca/fityvr-registration/
