Saint Lucia debuts Piton Awards for agents

The Saint Lucia Tourist Board (SLTB) has introduced the new Piton Awards to Canadian travel agents, an enhancement of the Preferred Agent Saint Lucia Specialist (PASS) program. Agents and agency partners participating in PASS will be automatically enrolled and are eligible to earn new incentives from participating hotels. Each month the top booking agent will win a four-night stay plus $600 and the respective agency will receive $500 Piton Marketing Bank Dollars. One grand prize trip will be awarded featuring seven nights for two including airfare, hotel, airport transfers and $5,000. The PASS program offers several benefits including: Personalized PASS marketing tools; Complimentary and discounted FAMs; Listing on the stlucianow.ca web site; Access to thousands of travelers from the SLTB via live chats on stlucianow.ca; Complimentary site inspections; Featured spots within the SLTB monthly e-newsletter; A chance to win an all expense, all inclusive trip for two. “Our valued travel agent and agency partners are a precious resource in selling Saint Lucia to travellers and we want to reward them for their ongoing support,”says Nerdin St. Rose, Saint Lucia Tourist Board’s VP Marketing & Sales. “Our goal is to ensure that agents have the tools they need to be successful as well as giving them the opportunity to experience first-hand all Saint Lucia has to offer.”The Piton Awards is an annual program and this year runs through Sept. 30, 2013. To be eligible agents must complete the Saint Lucia Specialist Course, be IATA/CLAA/ACTA/TICO/CLIA certified, attend a Saint Lucia presentation at least once per year and update bookings online no later than the fifth of the month following the book date. The drawing of $600 and four-night stay will be given out to the top booking agent of the month with an additional $500 Piton Marketing Bank Dollars to the agency. The grand prize seven-night stay and $5,000 will be awarded to a top producing travel agent chosen from those who secure a minimum of 60 qualified bookings (minimum three nights stay) between October 2012 and September 2013.
