Salzburg’s Favourite Things

As The Sound of Music rings in its 50th anniversary, officials from Salzburg Tourism and the Austrian Tourist Office are projecting an increase in travel to Salzburg, Austria, over 2015, reports staff writer, Ann Ruppenstein in this week’s digital edition of Canadian Travel Press.

While there are celebratory events planned including a gala by the Salzburg City Tourist Board on Oct. 17 and many Sound of Music themed things to do like touring locations depicted in the film or taking in a marionette show, visitors may also want to take in some other experiences while in the home-base of the von Trapp family.

For travellers heading to Salzburg, Bert Brugger, managing director of the Salzburg City Tourist Board, offers some off-the-beaten path ideas.
