Sam Roberts Band to play at Banff outdoor concert

Banff National Park’s highly popular outdoor summer concert, “Performance in the Park,”now in its third year, will host Montreal’s Sam Roberts Band in Banff’s Cascade Gardens on June 23. Performance in the Park, produced in partnership with Parks Canada, The Banff Centre and Banff Lake Louise Tourism, kicked off in 2010 to celebrate the destination’s mountain heritage and the importance of protected places in Canada. Each concert has proved phenomenally successful with ticket sales consistently reaching maximum capacity. “Performance in the Park always sells out so we encourage fans and visitors to get their tickets early if they hope to enjoy another fantastic summer day in the park with one of Canada’s great bands,”says Stu Back of Banff Lake Louise Tourism. The Sam Roberts Band, which first came to the attention of music fans with the release of the EP “The Inhuman Condition”in 2002, will be accompanied by folk-rock singer/songwriter Dan Mangan of BC who was also recently nominated for four Juno Awards, including “Best New Artist.”Tickets for the family friendly concert, available through The Banff Centre Box Office and Ticketmaster, go on sale April 3 with 500 tickets set aside at a reduced price for children under the age of 12.
