There is still time to join a special mission by SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts to help less fortunate folks during the Christmas season.

The company is now celebrating the 16th anniversary of its “Friends In Need” holiday campaign to support local communities. For every room reservation made at participating SilverBirch hotels during the week of Dec. 21-27, a donation of $10 will be made to a local charity.

“The Friends In Need campaign reaffirms our commitment to make a difference and to give back to the communities we operate in, while providing additional value for our guests with a special holiday rate,” says Steve Giblin, president of SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts.

This year, the target is to raise more than $23,000 through hotel room bookings and local fundraising events hosted by the participating hotels. Since its inception in 2000, the Friends In Need campaign has raised over $1.2 million, benefiting charities across Canada.

SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts properties participating in the campaign this year include the Residence Inn Marriott Vancouver Downtown, Home2Suites Hilton West Edmonton, DoubleTree Hilton West Edmonton, Radisson Hotel Edmonton South, Quality Hotel and Conference Centre Fort McMurray, DoubleTree Hilton and Conference Centre Regina, Best Western Charlottetown, Hampton Inn Hilton Halifax, Homewood Suites Hilton Halifax and the Fairfield Inn & Suites Marriott in St. John’s Nfld.
