SkyLink Hits The Road

The fifth annual SkyLink Road Show stopped in Toronto yesterday (May 13) as part of a five-city tour including Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and London.

Yuvraj Datta, president of SkyLink, says the purpose of the road show is to educate and update travel agents on what’s happening in the trade.

“Our industry is so dynamic, it’s changing everyday,” Datta told PressToday. “It is getting so difficult in today’s environment to keep up with the competition as an agent, what’s happening in the airline industry, what’s happening on the consolidation side. We saw an opportunity to bring a few of our supplier partners, airlines, tourism boards and hotel products, to different cities and invite travel agents to update them so that in one evening they can get course 101 on travel.”

Representatives from Air Canada, Copa Airlines, Etihad Airways, Mexico Tourism Board, AeroMexico, SkyGreece, SriLankan Airlines, Incredible !ndia, SkyLink, Biman International Airlines and Baxter Travel Media had booths at the trade show. The evening also featured a presentation from select suppliers and David McCaig of ACTA.
