SLH Says Thanks For The Support

SLH-Sirota-&-Boyen

Top executives from Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) kicked off a four-city tour of North America with a stop in Toronto that was designed to both update the travel trade on the latest news from the group and also to say ‘thanks’ to its travel agency supporters for the business that they’ve sent SLH’s way.

When asked why Toronto was the first stop on the tour, Filip Boyen, CEO of SLH, was quick to point out that Canada ranks as the hotel group’s “third biggest feeder market” and worldwide, travel agents account for 80% of SLH’s bookings – and 60% of those bookings are coming from agents in North America.

As for Canada, Boyen told Press Today that SLH wants to grow this market both in terms of the business that it generates from Canada as well as adding more Canadian properties to its inventory.

Currently, SLH has two Canadian members – the Trout Point Lodge of Nova Scotia and the Georgian Court Hotel in Vancouver.

In all the Toronto event gave agents attending a chance to meet with representatives from 16 of SLH’s member properties from destinations in both Europe and the United States, as well as from both Hong Kong and Thailand.
