Something Special From Turkish Airlines

Turkish Airlines believes that a picture is worth a thousand words and to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its operations out of Canada, the carrier has commissioned a commemorative book.

The 10×10, 100-page photography book is a unique gift for diplomatic and travel partners to celebrate this milestone and highlight the unity and similarities between Turkey and Canada.

“Take Your Seat” uses a director’s chair that can be found in every featured photograph. “It is a symbol to inspire us to foster a sense of oneness with people, planet and life,” said Randy VanDerStarren, lead global photographic storyteller and the book’s author.

“One people means we should be able to embrace our differences. One planet advocates that we must take responsibility for our environment. One life suggests that we get to decide how best to live our lives. This book celebrates that oneness,” VanDerStarren said.

Take Your Seat, Turkey was created in two cross-country expeditions, exploring exotic natural wonders, history, culture, and people. A section of the book contrasts the photos from Turkey with those taken in Canada.

Zafer Bolukbasi, Turkish Airlines’ general manager in Toronto, observed, “As visually demonstrated in this stunning work, there is quite a bit in common between Turkey and Canada. Coastal and mountain views and an appetite for adventure are perfect starting points for Canadian travellers looking to Widen their World via Turkish Airlines’ unique home base, Istanbul.

Bolukbasi continued, “Through an unmatched flight network that encompasses 317 destinations in 126 countries over five continents we are highly pleased and proud to continue to offer them a distinguished flight experience while we enter our second decade serving the Canadian market.”
