Spotlight on Portugal

for-bob-daily

It was all things Portugal yesterday (March 24) as Visit Portugal hosted an industry luncheon in Toronto, along with 15 visiting partners.

Officials touted the diversity of the European nation, which includes The Azores and Madeira. Last year, more than the 141,000 Canadians visited Portugal, which sports 850 km of coastline. Other tourism attributes include history and culture, gastronomy, golf and beautiful beaches, to name but a few.

And getting there is easy, with Air Transat, SATA and Air Canada rouge all offering direct seasonal service.

Partners on hand for the event included Abreu DMC Portugal, the Algarve Promotion Bureau, Argon Travel, Bensaude Turismo, Daniel Travel, Domitur Travel Agency, GeoStar DMC, Hertz Portugal, Hotel do Mar, Hotel Estoril Eden, In Tours, New Tour, Osiris Travel, Tivoli Hotels & Resorts, Top Atlantico DMC and Vivamarinha Hotel & Suites.

The Portuguese officials will hold a similar event in Montreal tomorrow (March 26).

Pictured at the Toronto luncheon are (l-r) Carlos Botelho of SATA Canada, Marina Laureano of Tourism Portugal, Luis Barros, Consul General of Portugal, and William Delgado of the Portuguese National Tourist Office in Toronto.
