Sunwing Offers Update On System Outage

Sunwing advises that its check-in systems provider, Airline Choice, continues to experience a system outage affecting its flight operations.

The company said that it “sincerely apologizes to all of our customers who have been inconvenienced by the flight delays.”

In an alert on its website, Sunwing says that: “While our systems provider continues to work on resolving the issue, we are manually processing as many flights as possible but anticipate further delays.”

The alert continues: “Please also note that all passengers with flight delays over three hours for reasons within carrier control will be compensated accordingly. Impacted passengers can visit the following link to initiate their compensation claim: https://www.sunwing.ca/en/sunwing-airlines/delay-claim .”

As well, the company is advising that “in light of the ongoing system issue affecting our flight operations, we are offering impacted customers the ability to make a one-time change to their departure date with no fees.”

It says that the no change fees apply to Sunwing bookings with originally scheduled departure dates between April 19, 2022 and April 22, 2022 and is valid for travel up to June 23, 2022. System rates apply for new travel dates.

Sunwing advises passengers that: “If you would like to change your departure date for southbound travel to destination, please call your travel agent or the Sunwing Sales Centre at 1-877-786-9464.”

And it adds that: “If you already in destination and would like to change your return flight home, please contact your local Sunwing Experiences representative at your hotel.”

The company concludes: “Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate through these unforeseen circumstances.”
