Sunwing Warns of Currency Surcharge

Sunwing plans to impose a $30 per passenger currency surcharge starting Aug. 11 to all points south for departures from Nov. 1 onward.

Sunwing says the move is a result of the drop in our dollar and will apply to “all vacation packages and air-only flights to southern destinations.”

The tour operator was notifying travel agents of the upcoming move by e-mail on Wednesday. The surcharge isn’t commissionable, Sunwing notes, and doesn’t apply to domestic air-only flights.
