A World Cup Match To Remember

It was a great way to start the week.

The industry gathered at Toronto’s Chelsea Hotel for the World Cup match between Switzerland and Brazil on Nov. 28.

Hosted by Baxter Media and the Chelsea Hotel and with Switzerland Tourism, Globus family of brands and MSC Cruises as sponsors, it was definitely a nice way to spend the morning.

In fact, those on hand had a chance to meet Switzerland Tourism’s new market manager for Canada, Oliver Weibel on his first day on the job (although he officially took over his post on Nov. 1) as well as chatting with Globus’ Carla Brake and MSC Cruises’ Patrick Collins.

Weibel observed that “it was a really pleasant first day at work” and “a great opportunity to meet and greet people.”

Admitting she was a “huge” World Cup fan, Globus’ Brake observed that the Monday morning viewing event was “a great way to spend the first day of the week.”

As for MSC’s Collins he thanked everyone for coming out, noting that the “industry has taken some punches in the last couple of years, so it is nice to be out and getting together again.”

Oh yes, the match … well, if the stars had aligned, the Swiss side would have been the winner – they certainly put up an almost impenetrable defense – but unfortunately, Brazil was able to score in the 83rd minute to earn the win.
