TAP Expands Stopover Options

Travellers on TAP Portugal airlines now can incorporate a stopover of up to three days in Lisbon and Porto, at no extra charge, when booking flights from Canada or the US to the Azores (pictured), Madeira or the Algarve.

With the expansion of its popular Stopover program to Faro (the Algarve), Ponta Delgada and Terceira (the Azores), Funchal or Porto Santo (Madeira), TAP is making all of its domestic destinations available for a visit to Lisbon or Porto on their way.

The airline is adding additional frequencies to each destination. In June, TAP will add a fourth daily flight from Lisbon to Faro, using larger aircraft which combined increase seat availability by 45%.
At the same time, TAP will add a third daily flight from Lisbon to Ponta Delgada (Azores). With three dailies to Sao Miguel Island (Ponta Delgada) and two dailies to Terceira, TAP will more than double its capacity to the Azores this summer for a total of 35 weekly flights connecting mainland Portugal to the Azores.

Also, TAP will operate eight daily flights to Funchal from Lisbon, two to Funchal from Porto, plus five weekly flights to Porto Santo from Lisbon.

The Portugal Stopover is associated with a network of more than 150 partners who ensure exclusive prices for Stopover customers for hotels, a free bottle of Portuguese wine in restaurants and free experiences, such as tuk-tuk rides, visits to museums, dolphin watching in the River Sado and food tastings, among others. This network will now extend to other partners in the Algarve, Azores and Madeira regions.

TAP launches five weekly flights between Toronto Pearson International and Lisbon on June 10.
