Tauck Expands Small Departures Portfolio
Small group departures are proving popular with travellers and Tauck has announced it will offer 415 of them on 60 different itineraries in 2017, providing a multitude of choices for travellers looking to combine the ease and convenience of guided travel with a small group experience.
Tauck has seen strong growth in its small group departures over recent years and has responded by doubling its overall capacity in the category since 2011.
For 2017, Tauck will offer small group departures on tours throughout Europe, North America, Central America, South America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. The average number of travellers on Tauck’s small group departures is 24, versus approximately 40 on regular departures of the same itineraries.
Tauck’s small group departures are a more affordable option than people may realize, noted Jeremy Palmer, a senior vice-president at the company.
“On our ‘Canadian Rockies & Glacier National Park’ tour the added cost is just $40 per day,” said Palmer, “and of the 60 different trips where we’re offering a smaller group option, 38 have a surcharge of 15% or less.”
Besides the special small group departures on its regular land journeys, Tauck offers a portfolio of small group Culturious trips (designed for active, boomer-age travellers) which average just 20 guests. In addition, most of Tauck’s safaris are limited to 20 to 30 guests.
